Child Rapist From Region Heading To Prison After Jury Trial A 32-year-old man from the region will spend 56 years in prison after being found guilty of child rape. Ulster County resident Charles Burgher, of Highland, was sentenced Friday, Dec. 9 to state prison followed by 15 years post-release supervision. According to the Ulster County District Attorney's Office, Burgher was convicted of five counts of rape and three counts of criminal sexual act following a four-day jury trial in October. Northumberland Man Accused Of Raping Child Under Age 17, Police Say A Capital District man is facing charges for allegedly raping a child under the age of 17. Saratoga County resident Siatar Creech, age 36, of Northumberland, was arrested on a warrant Monday, Sept. 12, following an investigation by New York State Police. Creech is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with the underage victim on multiple occasions in the town of Moreau, beginning in early 2022, police said.
