Rye Girls Take Second Place In State Golf Championship

RYE, N.Y. -- The Rye Girls Golf team scored its best results ever at the New York State Championships this month.

The Section 1 Rye Girls Golf team took second place in the New York state championship.

Rye High School student Alexis Hios and the Section 1 team both took second place at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Girls Golf Championship at the college course at Delhi University. The Section 1 team performed under the coaching of Rich Savage.

Hios scored one over par 73 in the second round for a total of 149 in the two-day tournament, scoring just six strokes short of the first place medalist. Additionally, Frida Henningsson took 23rd place in New York state.
