A heat wave is defined as three straight days of temps at 90 degrees or more -- which has not yet happened this year.

Rye Town Park & Beach were buzzing with activity Friday, with most finding shade under umbrellas, or by getting wet.

Temperatures are expected to be near, or above, 90% for the next seven days.
