Tappan Zee Constructors will be wrapping up the drainage work on Friday, a day ahead of schedule, the Thruway Authority said.

Drivers will be detoured approximately one mile east on Route 119 to access the northbound Thruway.

The exit 9 off-ramp to Route 119 will remain accessible from the northbound Thruway.

The operation will also require the overnight closures of up to three northbound lanes of the Thruway from exit 8A (Elmsford - NY Route 119 - Saw Mill River Parkway North) to the Tappan Zee Bridge.

The schedule is as follows: Thursday (Sept. 8), starting at 8 p.m., one right lane; at 9 p.m., two right lanes; and at 11:59 p.m., three right lanes.

The lanes will reopen at 4:30 a.m.

This affects the Thruway’s northbound exit 8A to the Tappan Zee Bridge.

Also Thursday, starting at 8 p.m. and ending on Friday, Sept. 9, at 5 a.m., the lane closures will affect the on-ramp of the Thruway’s exit 9.

All southbound lanes will remain open at all times during the operation, according to the Authority.

Lane closures are subject to change due to traffic, weather or emergency situations, it added.
