State Trooper Dies Of 9/11 Related Illness A New York State Police trooper has passed away from an illness he suffered while aiding in search and recovery efforts following the Sept. 11, 2011 terrorist attack. New York State Police Superintendent George Beach II announced the death of Trooper Michael Anson on Tuesday, stating that he passed away from an illness stemming from his assignment at the World Trade Center site following the attack.
