The mural, which was unveiled Friday, adorns a 3-foot high, 40-foot long cement retaining wall and incorporates the elements and principles of art (line, color, texture, shape) to communicate the children's ideas in paint.
Students also created an original song based on this shared experience that integrates music into the creative process. The song celebrates the "planting of seeds" as a metaphor for new beginnings.
The artists-in-residence were Jennifer Levine as the visual artist and Scott Massarsky for music/poetry.
