The students began on Saturday, April 30, by setting tables and preparing take-home bags of foods. They then cooked a chicken meal from scratch for more than 50 guests.

“They made pleasant conversation and treated everyone with the utmost respect,” said health teacher Luann Ricciardi. “Scrubbing pots and mopping the floor at the end of the night were all part of the experience. Kudos to these young men and women for a job well done. A person’s true character shows and grows when they take time to serve others.”

The students are currently running a food drive at the middle school. Collected items will be placed in care packages for families on Friday.
