WESTCHESTER, N.Y. - Rainfall of up to two inches Friday and Saturday left low-lying Westchester communities with standing water, flooded fields and several road closures through Saturday morning.
The rains began Thursday night and continued through early Saturday morning, closing parts of the Saw Mill, Taconic, Sprain and Hutchinson River parkways. Sections of the Saw Mill River Parway through Elmsford and Mount Pleasant remained closed early Saturday.
Athletic fields and parks areas in the Rivertowns and Greenburgh were under water. Beaches in Rye and Mamaroneck were closed Saturday morning.
