The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown: The story of nine Americans and their quest for gold at the 1938 Berlin Olympics.
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr: Set in occupied France during World War II, the novel centers on a blind French girl and a German boy whose paths cross.
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah: The story of two sisters, their very different lives and the choices made in the midst of World War II.
