Astorino assisted Harvest on Hudson chef David Amorelli in preparing a pear and blue cheese pizza using locally sourced produce.
"Harvest on Hudson is happy to help kick off Hudson Valley Restaurant Week with Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino," said Bruce Bernacchia, co-owner of Harvest on Hudson. Astorino was very happy to be a part of this. "There are 225 restaurants in all of the counties that are participating in this and 100 of them are in Westchester," said Astorino.
"There are the restaurants that you know and love, and others that you have wanted to try. This is a great time to get out of the house now that the weather is starting to cooperate and although you might not be sitting out on the patio, you can still get out and enjoy some fresh air and go to a restaurant that you have been dying to go to, but haven't because of the weather," said Astorino.
"It's time to experience all that Westchester has to offer, we have great restaurants with great chefs. As we say Meet me in Westchester, so Meet me in Westchester for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week," said Astorino.
"It's been a long winter and it's time to go ouyt and sample Westchester's finest restaurants during these coming weeks," said Bernacchia.
Hudson Valley Restaurant Week actually runs for two weeks from March 9 to March 22.
Diners will be able to take advantage of trying restaurants that they haven't gone to before.
Restaurants will be offering three-course prix fixe dinners for $29.95 and lunches for $20.95 (plus beverage, tax and tip).
