Water Main Break Leads To Early Dismissal At HS, MS In Hudson Valley A water main break has resulted in early dismissals at a high school and middle school in Westchester. The break "involves a significant 12-inch pipe that has no timeline for completion," Mount Pleasant Central School Superintendent Peter Giarrizzo said in an email to the community late Thursday morning, May 12.  Giarrizzo said there is currently no water at both Westlake High School, Westlake Middle School and the district office. Video: Water Main Break Causes Road Closure In Ramapo A water main break in Ramapo caused damage to a busy roadway and forcing its closure. Forshay Road is closed between Parker Boulevard and Grandview Avenue in Ramapo, the police department announced early Friday afternoon, Aug. 9. According to police, the water main break caused the road to buckle, leaving a large crevice in the turning lane. The roadway is closed as Suez makes repairs, and motorists in the area have been advised to seek alternate routes.

Willow Grove Elementary School on Storrs Road was closed on Tuesday, Jan. 22 due to a water main break, the Northern Rockland School District announced. Officials said a pipe burst leading up to the water meter outside the school on Storrs Road, prompting the closure. Avoid The Area: Water Main Breaks In Valley Cottage Motorists are being asked to avoid Mountainview Avenue in Valley Cottage due to a water main break. Officials said the break occurred around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in the vicinity of the pond and Christian Herald Road. Suez water has been contacted to repair the break before icing can occur, police said. The break occurred Friday Gilbert Avenue at the intersection of Sickletown Road.
