Man Dies After Tractor Trailer Strikes Him On Side Of I-287
A man was killed after he was hit by a tractor-trailer while standing by his disabled truck on the side of a Westchester County highway, police said. The crash happened on Tuesday, Dec. 27 around 4:15 a.m., when police responded to I-287 and the I-95 ramps in Rye for a reported accident between a box truck and tractor-trailer, according to state police. Police determined that Levittown, Pennsylvania resident Kevin Roman, age 26, had been driving a tractor-trailer east on I-287 when he left the lane and hit a box truck that was disabled on the shoulder of the highway. …

Woman Killed In Crash With Tractor-Trailer In Area
A 77-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash between a vehicle and a tractor-trailer on Route 17K. The crash took. place around 10:20 a.m., Wednesday, March 3, in Orange County on Route 17K and Long Lane in the town of Wallkill, State Police Trooper Steven Nevel said. An investigation revealed that a 2012 Toyota Highlander was traveling on long Lane when the driver, Sullivan County resident Kathleen Stirling, of Bloomingburg, was attempting a left turn onto Route 17K when she was struck by a Peterbilt tractor-trailer that was traveling westbound, Nevel said. Man Seriously Injured In Crash Between Car, Tractor-Trailer In Area
A crash between a tractor-trailer and a Chevrolet Malibu resulted in a road covered in gravel and a seriously injured 89-year-old driver, said police. According to state police, the Ulster County incident took place in Marbletown on Monday, Sept. 14; when the elderly driver from Olivebridge, traveling east, failed to yield the right of way. The tractor-trailer driver was then reportedly unable to avoid a collision, said police. Authorities Try To ID Victim In Overnight Route 287 Crash Near NY Border
MAHWAH, N.J. -- One person was killed when a Jeep plowed into a parked tractor-trailer overnight Sunday on Route 287 in Mahwah near the New York State line, authorities said. Authorities were trying to identify the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene after the fiery 2:30 a.m. crash on the northbound highway melted even the license plates of the Cherokee, which struck a parked rig hauling cases of water. Mahwah Fire Companies 1, 2 and 4 responded and extinguished the flames. Franklin Lakes provided mutual aid. New Jersey State Police were investigating.
