Cars Go Up In Flames At School In Hudson Valley A raging blaze involving two cars sent firefighters on an early morning trip to a school in Northern Westchester.  The fire happened on Sunday, July 9 around 1:30 a.m., when members of the Valhalla Fire Department were sent to the EF Academy in Thornwood, where a vehicle had gone up in flames in the parking lot.  While on their way to the school, firefighters then learned that the blaze had spread to a second car.  Once they arrived at the scene, crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames and remove the vehicles from the area, the department reported.

2 Hospitalized After Car Flips On Roof In 3-Vehicle Hudson Valley Crash A three-car crash on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester caused one vehicle to flip on its roof and left two people hospitalized.  The crash happened on Monday night, April 17 around 8 p.m. on the southbound Saw Mill River Parkway in Chappaqua near Route 120, and was started when a Toyota SUV driven by a 25-year-old Thornwood man was cut off by another vehicle, according to Westchester County Police Public Information Officer Kieran O'Leary. The incident took place in Westchester County around 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 17 at the EF Academy in Thornwood, according to Chief Paul J. Oliva, of the Mount Pleasant Police.
