UPDATE: Six firefighters were hospitalized with minor injuries from a stubborn noontime blaze that broke out in a basement gun range, spread through a Rockland County shopping center and continued burning late into the night on Sunday, Nov. 28, authorities confirmed. Two drivers were hospitalized after a chain reaction, head-on crash in the area. It happened in Rockland County on Thursday, May 7 at about 1:20 p.m. at the intersection of Bradley Parkway and Route 303 in Orangetown. The crash involved a 33-year-old man traveling northbound on Route 303 operating a 2008 Chevy Avalanche pickup truck and a 40-year-old man traveling southbound on Route 303 in a 1998 Peterbilt dump truck, Orangetown Police said. Multiple Injuries Reported In Rockland Crash Involving Pedestrian
Multiple people were injured during a two-vehicle crash that also involved a pedestrian in the area. The crash took place on Monday, March 2, in Rockland County at the intersection of Bataan Road and Western Highway in Orangeburg, said Orangetown Police Sgt. Michael Taylor. Man Charged With Drunk Driving After Audi Crashes In Rockland, Police Say
A 68-year-old man was allegedly intoxicated when he drove his Audi through a fence and came to a stop after striking a utility pole in Rockland County, police said. Officers from the Orangetown Police Department responded to Western Highway near Schreiber Street in Tappan at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, where there was a report of a crash. Neighbors Help Rescue Residents After House Fire Breaks Out In Rockland
A collaborative effort between emergency responders and local residents helped save seven people after a house fire broke out in Blauvelt. The Orangetown Police Department responded to a working house fire on Glynn Oval in Blauvelt just before 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16. Numerous homeowners on Glynn Oval observed a large amount of smoke coming from a neighbor's attic vent, police said. The man, identified as Arian Hila of Dumont was working at a construction site at 120 Western Highway when he crushed around 1:45 p.m. Friday when a garbage chute collapsed and landed on top of him near a dumpster, said Orangetown Police Capt. Tappan Woman, 34, Charged With Driving Drunk With Child In Her Car
A 34-year-old woman from Tappan found passed out next to the driver's side of her car on Wednesday, Jan. 31, was drunk and had a child in the car, Orangetown Police said. Emily M. Bell of Main Street in Tappan was found next to her car on Stevens Way in Orangeburg about 5:45 p.m., police said. She was charged with felony DWI under Leandra's Law for having a child under the age of 16 in her vehicle, police said.
