Man Killed In Head-On Hudson Valley Crash A man from the region was killed during a two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley. The crash took place in Ulster County in the town of Lloyd on Tuesday, May 17. Alfredo Gomes, age 59, of Lloyd, was killed while driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla, westbound on Route 299 when he crossed the double yellow line and ran head-on into a 2021 Volvo driven by Ashley Guerrero, age 35, of the city of Poughkeepsie, said Trooper Steven Nevel, of the New York State Police. The New Paltz Police Department received a report of an accident involving a pedestrian shortly before 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10 near the area of the Wallkill Bridge. Upon arrival, responding officers found the pedestrian dead in the road after being dragged down Main Street under the tractor-trailer, which continued onto Route 299. Pedestrian Hit By State Police Cruiser Near Route 9W A pedestrian was hospitalized with injuries after being struck by a New York State Police cruiser on Tuesday morning, Aug. 14. The pedestrian was struck by the marked police vehicle while on patrol in the Town of Lloyd in Ulster County on North Road, near Route 9W, just south of Route 299, at approximately 6 a.m. on Tuesday.  The pedestrian suffered “several injuries” and was transported to the MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie for treatment.
