27-Year-Old Killed In I-84 Crash Involving Hudson Valley Resident Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash on a stretch of Interstate 84. It happened around 5:50 p.m. Saturday, June 17 in Tolland County, in the town of Vernon. A 2014 Honda RGL was traveling westbound in the center lane and a 2009 Nissan Altima was traveling in the left lane when the Altima sideswiped the pickup truck, then overcorrected causing the Nissan to strike the median and roll over, Connecticut State Police said. I-84 Bridge Work Over Route 9W Starts Work is underway on an extensive, multi-million dollar project to rehabilitate the Interstate 84 bridge over Route 9W in Newburgh. The $14.7 million project will raise the height of the overpass from 14 to 16 feet at the interchange. The funding was awarded by the New York State Bridge Authority in late February.
