Alert Issued After Threat Made Targeting Area Middle School
School officials in a Westchester district are on high alert after a post on social media threatening violence was made online. In New Rochelle, Albert Leonard Middle School Principal Camille Edwards-Thomas issued a statement on Tuesday, Nov. 16 regarding a message on social media from a student threatening to carry out an act of violence in the building. 19: Hudson Valley School To Stay Remote All Week, 48 Quarantined
Four dozen students and staffers in a Westchester school will enter a two-week quarantine after potentially being exposed to COVID-19 last week. Interim New Rochelle Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero alerted the community on Saturday, Oct. 31 that a staff member at Albert Leonard Middle School tested positive for the virus after last being in the building on Tuesday, Oct. 27. 19: New Staff Member At Hudson Valley Middle School Tests Positive
A Westchester middle school was forced to transition to remove learning after as many as five classes may have been exposed to the virus last week. Interim New Rochelle Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero announced that a staff member at Albert Leonard Middle School has tested positive for COVID-19 and was last in the building on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Hudson Valley Girl Competes In Food Network Baking Competition
A 12-year-old Westchester girl will be competing in a Food Network baking show. Nyah Rosado is competing on Season 6 of "Kids Baking Championship," airing Monday, Jan. 7. The student at Albert Leonard Middle School in New Rochelle describes herself as very competitive, playing basketball, lacrosse and soccer. If she wins, Nyah wants a tattoo that says she won Kids Baking Championship. She and 11 other junior bakers will be judged and hosted by Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman.
