SPRING VALLEY, N. Y. -- Though a recent audit reveals a $1.4 million cushion for the East Ramapo School District, the independent audit firm working with the school district told officials Monday that more needs to be done to make sure financial solvency continues, according to lohud.com.

That the school district's spending plan was in the black, after years of deficit spending, was mainly due to the district getting to the proceeds from the sale of both Colton and Hillcrest elementary schools, lohud reported.
