RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo remains wardless for now.
An appellate court upheld the town's 2014 "no" vote on creating a ward system for Ramapo. Supporters of the ward system, including Michael Parietti, argued there was confusion over who was eligible to vote after the town allowed unregistered voters to cast a ballot, according to LoHud.
Parietti and others are attempted to get the ward vote decertified.
The vote would've created a town board set up via voting districts, rather than a townwide town board and added two additional board members. Before the vote, the town allowed unregistered voters to cast ballots.
The ward vote failed 15,581 to 14,687. Expanding the town board failed 15,648 to 14,644.
