Ramapo Police Make Marijuana Arrest During Traffic Stop

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police confiscated 6 ounces of marijuana during a traffic stop Wednesday in the Hillcrest area of Ramapo, according to police.

The person driving the car, whom police did not name, is facing a charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, police said. 

The investigation started about 10 p.m. Wednesday when the officer noticed the car had an equipment violation, police said. During the traffic stop, the officer noticed a strong smell of marijuana, police said.
