Sgt. Sal Matos and Officer Mike Anton participated in this year's Games, held in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Organizers said there were 571 competitors this year.

"Started in 1977, the Can-Am Police-Fire Games promote physical fitness and camaraderie among and between law enforcement, fire, emergency and protective services personnel and their agencies," organizers note.

This year's Games raised money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Thunder Bay and the Thunder Bay Special Olympics.

Matos and Anton participated in three pistol events. Matos received a gold and a bronze medal -- in "Individual Expert Revolver" and "Individual Semi-Auto Sharpshooter" -- and also took sixth in "C Class-Individual-Stock-Semi."

Anton took home two silvers and a bronze, for "Individual Classified Semi-Auto," "Individual High Master Semi-Auto" and "B Class-Individual-Stock-Semi," respectively.

"We are proud of their accomplishments in the events," the department noted in a Thursday Facebook post.

"Both members are dedicated to maintaining proficiency with their firearms and exhibited [it] during this competition. Congratulations!"

The competition featured a variety of events, including submission grappling, archery and even darts. You can view a highlights reel from mid-week here.

The next Games will be held in Missouri, in 2018.
