"The members of the Ramapo Police Department are thankful to have wonderful residents like the Del Duca family," the department noted in a Thursday Facebook post. "Yesterday, the family stopped by our station to express their support for our Department and the law enforcement community."
A note in the gift basket the Del Duca family gave the department said, in part:
Thank you -- for all you do to keep us safe. We are sorry for the recent loss and sadness in the blue family.
We support you and pray for your safety every day.
"Our members appreciate the basket," the department said. "Thanks to everyone for your support."
