SLOATSBURG, N.Y.—Property Developer Related Companies, the builder of Tuxedo Farms in Orange County, is seeking permission to build a shopping center that would extend the Tuxedo Farms development into Orange County, lohud.com reported.
The Planning Board will discuss the request on Tuesday, Nov. 17. Mayor Wright said Sloatsburg residents want more shopping, but has not said whether this development is the best option for the town.
Local residents and watershed officials worry that a development would harm the natural area between Sterling Forest and Harriman State Parks, according to lohud.
