New York Woman Claims $1 Million Lottery Prize A Long Island woman has won a $1 million lottery prize. Lynn Powell, of Central Islip, claimed a top prize from the New York Lottery’s Emerald 10’s scratch-off game, the lottery announced on Tuesday, June 7. NY Lottery said Powell received her prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $585,900 after required withholdings. The ticket was purchased at the Valero that is located at 404 Clinton St. in Hempstead, the lottery said.

Officers in Orange County responded to the Valero gas station on Carpenter Avenue in Wallkill shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Sept. 1, where there were reports of a shooting. The detail, held on Saturday, May 23 in Dutchess, utilized an underage volunteer to purchase alcohol under the observation of plainclothes investigators and supported by uniformed troopers. Man Busted For Armed Gas Station Robbery In Area, Police Say A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a gas station armed robbery in the area. Orange County resident Andre McGriff, of Newburgh, was arrested by the Town of Newburgh Police for the Feb. 5, armed robbery of the Mobil Gas Station on South Plank Road, said Lt. James Nenni. Police Ask For Help Identifying Gas Station Armed Robbery Suspect The Town of Newburgh Police Department is asking the public for help identifying a man who robbed a Valero Station at gunpoint. The robbery took place around 11:18 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21 at the Valero Station, 209 S Plank Road in the Town of Newburgh, said Lt. James Nenni.  The suspect entered the store and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun, which was used to threaten the clerk.
