Police Rescue Three Children Being Held Hostage In Area Hotel Room State Police rescued three children who they say were being held hostage in a hotel room in the Hudson Valley. Police responded at around 6:35 p.m. Friday, March 4, in Ulster County, when a Kingston man called 911 to say he was holding three children hostage at the Rodeway Inn in the Town of Ulster. The children were described as being ages 4, 2, and 1, said police. An investigation revealed that Kingston resident Scipio D. Kayaker Who Could Not Swim Rescued After Vessel Capsizes In Area Lake A kayaker who could not swim and had overturned his vessel was rescued by first responders in the area. The incident took place around noon on Wednesday, Aug. 4 Ulster County in the Town of Lloyd. Police received a 911 call for the capsized kayaker on Chodikee Lake near the boat launch, said Lloyd PD Chief James Janso. Apartment Fire Breaks Out In Area An apartment fire that broke out in the area was controlled in about 20 minutes.  Firefighters in Ulster County responded to the Lake Katrine Apartments on Neighborhood Road at approximately 6:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
