Woman, 25, Injured In Single-Vehicle Crash In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley woman had to be freed from her vehicle by first responders after crashing down an embankment on Route 9W. The crash occurred in Ulster County around 5:40 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 6, in Ulster Park. According to Sgt. Collin Reynolds, of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, Manpreet Mann, age 25, of Poughkeepsie was located by police trapped in a 2014 Ford Fusion about 15 feet down an embankment on Route 9W. Firefighters extricated Mann from the car in 20 minutes using Hurst tools known as the Jaws of Life. It took an additional 10 minutes to bring her up to the roadway, the Esopus …

Mother Shot On Porch Of Home In Hudson Valley Near Young Child Detectives are investigating after a mother was shot on the front porch of her Hudson Valley home in what's called a safe area. The incident took place in Ulster County around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 in the hamlet of Port Ewen. According to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a home on North Court for a report of gunshots and a woman screaming. When deputies arrived on the scene they found a 34-year-old woman on a porch with a gunshot wound to her hip, the department said. Dogs Stuck In Icy Hudson River Rescued Two dogs who were out for a day of adventure were rescued after they became stranded on the ice on the Hudson River in the area of Parker Avenue in Ulster County. Members of the Esopus Fire Department responded to the area around 3 p.m. after receiving word of the stuck dogs, the department said on their Facebook page. Bicyclist Killed After Being Hit By Pickup Driver On Route 9W A fatal accident involving a 33-year-old Dutchess County motorist whose pickup truck hit a bicyclist in Ulster County is under investigation, according to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office. The accident occurred around 6:20 p.m. Monday when Michale C. Brailey of Red Hook, who was driving his white 2013 Ford F-150 north on Route 9W when his pickup truck left the roadway and struck a bicyclist, the department said.
