Putnam County To Participate In Statewide Stop-dwi Holiday Season Crackdown The Putnam County Sheriff's Office will be taking part in a statewide STOP-DWI holiday season crackdown enforcement effort. The initiative, which runs from Thursday, Dec. 17 to Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, will focus on impaired drivers, said the Sheriff's Office. Joining the sheriff's office will be the Town of Carmel Police and the Kent Police Department, as well as the New York State Police. In an effort to crack down on impaired drivers, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office will be increasing enforcement efforts through sobriety checkpoints starting Friday, Feb. 1 through 4 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 4. Officials encourage those attending Super Bowl events to choose a designated driver or make plans to ensure a safe ride home. Westchester County police officers were dispatched to a Victoria Drive home in Mount Kisco on Saturday night, Jan. 26 when there were neighbor complaints of a “large, underage drinking party in progress.”  Upon arrival at the home, officers found several open cases of beer, empty cans of beer and an open bottle of vodka inside the residence.
