On Saturday, Nov. 27, state police in Dutchess County launched an investigation into a fatal crash on State Route 9G in the Town of Rhinebeck. Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Area, Police Say Dutchess County Sheriff's officers are investigating a crash in which a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Rhinebeck. The incident took place around 1:45 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the intersection of White Schoolhouse Road and Slate Quarry Road, Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said. Road Reopens After Fatal Crash In Dutchess Update: Slate Quarry Road in the Town of Rhinebeck reopened in both directions early Wednesday night after an ongoing hazmat cleanup after a serious motor vehicle crash. Those traveling through that area were advised to use caution and allow for extra time, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said. The crash occurred in the afternoon, and was a fatality involving a propane truck and a passenger vehicle.
