2-Car Collision Shuts Down Route 6N In Mahopac, Drivers Walk Away Unharmed A busy Hudson Valley road was temporarily shut down as firefighters responded to a two-car collision that luckily left the occupants without serious injuries.  On Saturday, Dec. 17 around 7 p.m., fire officials and police in Putnam County responded to the accident in Mahopac at the intersection of Route 6N and Secor Road, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department.  After arriving, police began directing traffic while fire officials assessed the occupants involved in the crash for injuries. Three Hospitalized After Three-Car Crash In Mahopac Three people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash in the area. The crash, which involved three vehicles, happened on Saturday morning, July 20 in the area of 30 Secor Road in Mahopac. Members of the Mahopac Falls Fire Department, including EMS and Fire Police, responded along with multiple units from the Carmel Police Department, Putnam County Sheriff's Office and EMStar paramedics, said Jack Casey of the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. House Fire Breaks Out In Mahopac Firefighters knocked down a house fire that broke out on Secor Road in Mahopac after 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29. Fire crews from the Mahopac Falls Fire Department received reports of smoke billowing from a house on Secor Road. Emergency teams converged on the scene and found heavy smoke upon entering the home, but little fire was found. The property owners were on the scene to stay close to their dogs. Putnam Sheriff's Narcotics Enforcement Unit Details Recent Arrests Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley Jr. announced several arrests that have been made by the Department's Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) in recent weeks.  Among the area residents who were busted for various infractions include:  On Sept. 28, members of the NEU stopped a vehicle for traffic violations, on Route 6, in Carmel. Subsequent to the deputies' traffic stop and interview, the operator of the vehicle, a 31-year-old male, from Hopewell Junction, was found to be in possession of alleged heroin.
