Officer In Area Hit By Car In Chase For Trio Wanted For NYC Carjacking
A police officer in Westchester County was struck by a car during a chase for three suspects wanted for carjacking in New York City. On Sunday, Dec. 4, around 3:15 p.m., police in Yonkers responded to the area of Point Street and Ravine Avenue, where an occupied vehicle wanted in connection with the carjacking was seen, according to Yonkers Police. Once arriving there, three suspects attempted to drive away from the scene but after this resulted in an accident, the trio then ran away on foot to try and escape. Cops Sickened After Exposure To Drug Or Chemical During Arrest In Region
Several police officers are recovering after being exposed to an unidentified drug or chemical while making an arrest over the weekend in Westchester. The incident took place during the evening on Friday, May 7, in Yonkers. That's when the Yonkers PD officers responded to a call of an agitated man on Ravine Avenue with a loaded, defaced handgun who was arguing with himself and threatening to shoot everyone on sight. A member of a prominent gang in Westchester has admitted to his roles in several attempted murders and violent incidents in an effort to assert his control in a Yonkers neighborhood. Samuel “Benji” Mapp, an alleged member of the Blood Stones Army, has pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder, all felonies, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., announced on Friday.
