Good Samaritan Struck, Killed Assisting Others On I-84 State police are asking the public for help after a man, who was assisting people following a crash, was hit and killed in Connecticut. Andy Azab, of Oakville, an enclave of Watertown in Litchfield County, was hit by a Nissan Altima while attempting to help at another crash scene on I-84 in Hartford County, in Southington. State police said the accident happened around 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, July 6 near the Exit 28 on-ramp, when Azab, age 62, was standing in the travel portion of the highway. Boater Arrested After Woman Critically Injured At Candlewood Lake A 38-year-old woman involved in a boating accident on Squantz Pond in New Fairfield has died from her injuries. Wanda Tirado of Waterbury, a swimmer from a boat, was hit around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday at Squantz Pond on Candlewood Lake and suffered critical injuries, said Chris Collibee, with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Tirado died around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday from the injuries sustained, Collibee said. After being injured, Tirado was rescued from the water by a Good Samaritan vessel and transported to Danbury Hospital, Collibee said. During the course of the investiga…
