Firefighters Battling Large Blaze At Warehouse In Area Firefighters are battling a large warehouse fire in an industrial building in the area. The blaze broke out in Orange County around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in Middletown on the Midland Avenue extension at 9 Midland Avenue. Middletown Police said the "very large" fire is located in a warehouse and a massive firefighting effort is underway by the Middletown Fire Department and others.  Several large industrial buildings are located in the same area. Police Searching For Man Who Fled, Crashed Stolen Vehicle In Area Police are searching for a man who was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle when he fled from officers and crashed before running away. The incident began in Orange County around 4 p.m., Monday, Feb. 10, when officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle on North Street in Middletown. The driver fled and led the officer on a brief pursuit before the vehicle struck another vehicle on Webb Road, lost control, and crashed into the woods near the intersection of Webb Road and South Street, City of Middletown Police Lt. Cold Spring Man Charged With DWI In State Police Stop New York State Police troopers busted 17 motorists from the Hudson Valley and Fairfield County who were allegedly driving while impaired this past weekend. The local residents charged were: Rockland County On Friday, Nov. 16, State Police from Middletown arrested Kenneth Smellegar, 48, of Pearl River, for DWI.
