The incident occurred in Orange County at 11:20 p.m. on Monday, April 8, at 59 and 61 Carter St., in the city of Newburgh. According to Mike Neppl, a spokesman for the Newburgh Fire Department, arriving units found the rear of 59 and 61 Carter Street fully involved with fire, which was spreading to the interior of the buildings.  Neppl said crews stretched handlines into the interior and began bringing the fire down and searching for hidden fire. Man Charged In Fatal Shooting Of Woman At Area Apartment Complex A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman at an area apartment complex. Carlos A. Rivera, of the City of Newburgh, was arrested Friday, Nov. 8, for the Sept. 21, the murder of Chelsea Debidin, 21, at the Knox Village Apartments, in New Windsor, said the New Windsor Police. Debidin was pronounced dead at the scene and her 20-year-old boyfriend, who survived, was taken to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, police said. First responders were dispatched to a Brown’s Road home at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 16, when the fire started on the second floor of a home in the Coldenham section of Montgomery. Multiple fire agencies, led by the Coldenham Fire Department, responded to the blaze, which was knocked down within an hour. Woman Injured After Several Shots Fired At Large Gathering In Area A woman was hospitalized after several shots were fired at a large, overnight gathering in the City of Newburgh. The incident occurred around 3:40 a.m. Saturday, May 18 in the area of 97 South Street. Less than an hour later, the woman entered Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand, said police. The large crowd was dispersing after police arrived on the scene following notification of gunfire.  The incident is being investigated. Anyone with information is asked to call Newburgh City Police at 845-561-3131.
