Man Found Lying On Hudson Valley Roadway Dies In Hit-Run-Crash, Police Say Police are investigating after a man was found lying unconscious on a Hudson Valley roadway beside a vehicle that had a flat tire. Orange County resident Walter Weiser, age 65, of Monroe, was found around 7:50 a.m., Friday, Aug. 18 on Old Little Britain Road near Unity Place in the town of Newburgh. When the town of Newburgh Police officers responded they found Weiser lying next to a gray 2007 Suzuki Reno that was facing westbound on the side of the road, said Lt. Man Killed After House Fire Breaks Out In Area A Hudson Valley man was killed during a large house fire overnight. The fire took place in Orange County around 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8 on Babes Lanes in the town of Newburgh. Police and firefighters responded to a home on Babes Lane after receiving 911 calls reporting smoke and fire, said Lt. Peter Talarico, of the town of Newburgh Police. Man Nabbed For DWI/Drugs Following Wrong-Way Crash, Police Say A 34-year-old man has been arrested for alleged DWI/Drugs following a wrong-way driving crash in the area. Jason Miles, of Ancramdale in Columbia County, was arrested on Thursday, March 25, following a three-vehicle crash in the Town of Poughkeepsie in which one of the cars rolled over, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Joseph. Cavaliere.  According to Cavaliere, officers responded to the crash in the area of Haight and Raymond avenues and found that Miles was driving his vehicle westbound in the eastbound lane of traffic on Haight Avenue when he collided with two other vehicles. …

Poughkeepsie House Fire Displaces Family Of Four A two-alarm fire in the City of Poughkeepsie displaced three children and one adult, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department. Firefighters received notice of the fire around 11:38 a.m. Wednesday at 22 Bement Ave., said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson. Fire Breaks Out In Poughkeepsie Duplex Five adults and four children were left homeless after a fire ripped through a two-story duplex in the City of Poughkeepsie. The fire, which started around 6:10 p.m. Monday, at 64 Talmadge St., began on the second-floor of the four-unit building, said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson.
