Driver Severely Burned In Vehicle Fire In Somers
A driver was sent to the hospital with burns after a vehicle fire in Northern Westchester. The blaze happened on Sunday, Jan. 15 around 4:50 p.m. in Somers on Nymph Drive near Lake Lincolndale, where a car caught on fire, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. Luckily, the fire was out of range of any buildings. Firefighters were able to quickly put the flames out after hosing it down, but not before the driver suffered burns as a result. Suspect On Loose After 15-Year-Old Shot In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A 15-year-old boy was hit twice in a Westchester County shooting, police said. On Wednesday, Oct. 26 at around 10:30 p.m., police responded to a reported shooting in Yonkers in the area of 290 Woodworth Ave. and found the victim suffering from two gunshot wounds to his lower body, according to Yonkers Police. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is now in stable condition, police said. Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Hit By SUV Near Marist College
A 61-year-old was hospitalized over the weekend after he was struck by an SUV on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie, near Marist College, police said. Officers from the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department received a report shortly before 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, of a Honda CR-V that struck a pedestrian on North Road, near the college. Police said that a 63-year-old Hyde Park man struck a Poughkeepsie resident who was on the roadway, not in a crosswalk. Two Men Shot As Fights Break Out Overnight In Poughkeepsie
Two men suffered gunshot wounds as fights broke out amid a large crowd overnight in the City of Poughkeepsie, Lt. Matt Clark said. The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. Saturday in the area of Church and Academy streets. A 29-year-old victim was found with a gunshot wound to his chest.
