Man Rushed To Hospital By Helicopter After Being Pinned Between Car, Building In Carmel
A man was critically injured after becoming pinned between a car and a building in the Hudson Valley, firefighters said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Friday, Feb. 2 around 12:30 p.m., when a vehicle that had been put on a mechanical lift suddenly accelerated forward, pinning a man against a building in Carmel, according to the Lake Carmel Fire Department. A Hudson Valley man who allegedly fled from a two-vehicle crash involving alcohol that critically injured a woman was found hiding in his home. The crash took place in Ulster County around 6:30 a.m., Friday, March 31 on Route 9W in Barclay Heights. A skydiver who attempted a "swoop landing" died from injuries suffering during an accident in the Hudson Valley. It happened on Sunday, July 5 at approximately 5:40 p.m. in Ulster County. Five people were injured in a two-vehicle head-on crash in Orange County. The crash took place around 8:15 p.m., Saturday, May 2, at the intersection of Lakes and Nelson Roads in Greenwood Lake, said Lt. John Rader of the Warwick Police. A 33-year-old man is in intensive care after his arm became stuck in a large machine while at work late Monday afternoon. Michael Avery of Wappingers Falls was rescued around 4:35 p.m. Monday at the Dunmore Corporation in Brewster, after his arm was caught between two large rollers in a machine, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. Three local residents injured in a head-on crash on Route 9 had to be airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, officials said.
