The fire started in Orange County in the town of Goshen around 10 p.m., Monday, July 4 at a two-story home on Corral Lane in the Harness Estates development. In Putnam County, Kent and Southeast will have their annual pyrotechnic extravaganzas this weekend.  Kent's fireworks display over Lake Carmel will begin about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 30.  In Southeast, festivities will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 1 with a live band performance. Fireworks will begin about 9:30 p.m. on Independent Way. The rain date for Southeast's fireworks extravaganza is Saturday, July 7.
