Two people were injured after a small plane crashed into a Fairfield County shed wedged between two homes. The crash took place in Danbury around 6 p.m., Monday, April 10, in the area of 161 Southern Blvd., about three miles from Danbury Airport, the Danbury Fire Department reported. Police have identified a man killed after a small plane crash on Long Island. The crash happened around 12:35 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 in East Hampton off Springy Banks Road, on the water's edge of Three Mile Harbor. Helicopter Inspecting Power Lines Crashes In Hudson Valley, FAA Says
Two people were injured during a helicopter crash in the Hudson Valley, according to the FAA. The crash took place around 8:56 a.m., Friday, June 18, while the pilot of the McDonnell Douglas 500 helicopter was inspecting power lines near Swan Lake in Sullivan County, the FAA said. A 64-year-old man was killed when his glider crashed at an airport in the Hudson Valley. Khanh H. Nguyen, of Tenafly, New Jersey, was killed around 2:25 p.m., Sunday, June 6, at the Wurtsboro Airport in Sullivan County, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. It happened on Friday, June 5 at approximately 7:10 p.m. at the Wurtsboro–Sullivan County Airport in the town of Mamakating. State Police Will Start Deploying Drones
State Police in the Hudson Valley will soon have some new tools to fight crime and enforce the law in New York. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the launch of a new “State Police Unmanned Aerial System” program, which will involve the use of aerial drones that will be put into service later this month.
