Strang-Thrasher, of Wassaic, died on Sunday, February 4, at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. Strang-Thrasher, born in Connecticut in the town of Sharon in Litchfield County, was a graduate of Dover High School and Dutchess Community College.  She was a direct care worker at Cardinal Hayes Home for Children in Millbrook, for 30 years, according to her obituary. Former Chief Of Brewster Fire Department Dies A fire department in the Hudson Valley has announced the death of one of its former chiefs.  In a social media post on Sunday, Feb. 4, the Brewster Fire Department in Putnam County announced the death of former Chief and Commissioner Thomas Palmer.  Palmer led the department from 1996 to 1998, the department said.  More information about Palmer's death, including funeral arrangements, has not yet been announced.  This is a developing story.
