$2 Million Plaza At Walkway Over Hudson State Historic Park Opens To Public Officials have announced the opening of a $2 million plaza outside of the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park. The East Gate Plaza is located outside of the Poughkeepsie entrance of the walkway, according to an announcement from Gov. Kathy Hochul. Photos: 'Kooky, Spooky' Decor For Halloween Turns Heads In Cortlandt A Northern Westchester County homeowner set up a spook-tacular special treat for his neighbors. Buchanan resident Brian Neurauter has set up a maze and haunted house on 4th Street, complete with all the ghouls, goblins and other Halloween fixings. Hundreds of children from around the area have visited the residence leading up to the holiday, with plenty more expected to take the tour on Halloween afternoon and evening. The experience comes complete with skeletons, zombies, spiders, bats, the undead and plenty of other spooky surprises for all comers.

The event, which begins at 7 p.m., will feature members of numerous surrounding departments and allow residents a chance to thank them for their service. Cause For Paws: Cortlandt Community Comes Together To Aid Rescue Pups Help the newly-opened Westchester Canine Center of Cause for Paws turn used tires into beds for dogs. Meet some pups, kiss a pup, or just come to enjoy the food and entertainment in Verplanck. Its first "doggie drive" is set for Saturday, April 21 from noon to 4 p.m. Cause for Paws also is looking for donations of old shirts, towels, and blankets that can be used as a filling for the beds.  Please drop off any donations to Westchester Canine Center, 260 6th St. in Verplanck.
