Flames Shoot Out Of Chimney At Northern Westchester Home Firefighters raced to a Northern Westchester home after a blaze broke out in the residence's chimney.  The blaze happened on Sunday evening, Feb. 25, when a chimney fire broke out at a residence in Bedford on Mary's Lane, the Bedford Fire Department said on Wednesday, Feb. 28.  The resident told firefighters that flames were extending several feet from the top of the chimney. Crash Involving Overturned Tanker Truck Leads To Road Closure An overturned tanker truck crash has closed a stretch of a busy roadway as police investigate the crash. The incident took place in Northern Westchester around 12:44 p.m., Monday, June 8, when a sewage tanker overturned on Route 22 in Bedford, the Bedford Fire Department said. Driver Hits Horse On Roadway In Area A horse was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Northern Westchester. The crash took place late Monday, Feb. 17 on Route 121 in Bedford when the horse had gotten loose and was in the roadway, said the Bedford Fire Department. ID Released For 22-Year-Old Man Killed In Head-On Northern Westchester Crash A man killed in a head-on crash in Northern Westchester has been identified. Diego Trejo, 22, of Pound Ridge, was killed around 9:20 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16, on South Bedford Road, said Bedford Police Lt. Andrew Bellantone. According to Bellantone, a preliminary investigation found that a 2018 BMW 750I traveling eastbound collided head-on with Trejo's 2004 Acura TSX sedan traveling westbound.  Trejo was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, police said.
