Popular Bakers Open New Store In Croton-On-Hudson: 'Home Away From Home' A pair of bakers who have built a reputation for quality bread have opened their first retail store in Northern Westchester. Former Baker At Reader’s Digest Turns 104 Josephine DeSilva, a Fairfield County resident and former baker at Reader’s Digest in Northern Westchester, is celebrating her 104th birthday at Bethel Nursing Home. DeSilva has resided at Bethel Nursing Home in Ossining since 2016. She is the oldest of 12 children and worked as a baker for Reader’s Digest. DeSilva and her husband, Manuel raised their family in Pleasantville before he passed away. She is the mother to Josephine of Briarcliff Manor and Manuel of New Hampshire (deceased).
