LAGRANGE, N.Y. -- A teen from Pleasant Valley was killed Tuesday night in a one-car crash in LaGrange, state police said.
Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks responded to Freedom Road, in the area of Frost Hill Road, at approximately 7:25 p.m.
Daniel A. Dangerfield, 18, was traveling southbound on Freedom Road when his vehicle exited the eastern shoulder of the roadway and stuck a utility pole, police said.
LaGrange Fire Department extricated the victim and sole occupant of the Nissan sedan using the Jaws of Life in under 10 minutes. Dangerfield was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, the LaGrange Fire Department and the LaGrange Rescue Squad.
