An East Fishkill man was brought into custody in Kent earlier this week, after a routine traffic stop revealed he had a warrant out for his arrest in Putnam County.
Shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, Dutchess County Deputy Sheriff Eric Hayes was on patrol on Route 52 in Kent when he pulled over 29-year-old Jermaine Evans for having a muffler that was unlawfully loud.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, after running a computer check during the traffic stop, Hayes determined that Evans’ license had been suspended and that he was the subject of a bench warrant that was issued by the Town of Kent Justice Court.
Evans was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and turned over to the custody of the Kent Police Department to address the bench warrant.
