Dutchess Woman Entered Prison With Drugs, Cash, Police Say

BEEKMAN, N.Y. -- A 38-year-old Dutchess County woman faces charges after she tried to sneak drugs and cash into the Green Haven Correctional Facility in Beekman, state police said.

Patricia M. Harney, of Glenham, has been charged with first-degree promotion of prison contraband, a felony, police said.

Troopers assisted Department of Corrections officers with the arrest. Harney was taken to Troop K headquarters in Poughkeepsie for processing, police said.

She was arraigned in the Town of LaGrange Justice Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond, police said.

Harney is to appear in the Town of Beekman Court at a later date.
