Elmer A. Hernandez-Quevedo, 23, was backing out of a parking space on North Main Street in the village when he struck the back end of a Jeep, police said.

State troopers investigating the collision charged Hernandez-Quevedo with aggravated driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.

Hernandez-Quevedo failed a field sobriety test and also provided a breath sample that showed he had a blood alcohol content of .20 percent, which is more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent, police said.

He was ticketed and ordered to appear in Village of Brewster Court on Monday, April 18, police said.
