CARMEL, N.Y. -- A Carmel man who served as a firefighter in New York City has died due to an illness contracted from working at Ground Zero following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, according to the LoHud.com.
A woman is saying her husband, a former New York City Firefighter, died after contracting throat cancer after working at ground zero following 9/11.
Photo Credit: Wikimedia CommonsThe family of Thomas John Kelly, 58, said he contracted throat cancer after working in the Lower Manhattan area following the attacks. He continued to work for FDNY until the cancer forced him to retire in 2005, LoHud.com said.
