Lane Closures To Affect Taconic State Parkway For Over Weeks In Putnam County: Here's When

Portions of a busy parkway in the Hudson Valley will be affected by lane closures for more than two weeks, officials announced.

The northbound Taconic State Parkway in Putnam County at Route 301 in Kent will be reduced to one lane beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 2, the New York State Department of Transportation announced.

The lane reduction will continue to last through Wednesday, Jan. 17, officials added. 

A separate closure is schedule for two lanes of the Taconic, also northbound, between Exit 11 (Route 134) and Exit 13 (Underhill Avenue) in the town of Yorktown, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 3, through Thursday, Jan. 4, between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., to facilitate bridge repairs.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
