Judge Set To Rule On Former Chappaqua Teacher's Sex-Abuse Plea Deal CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- New Castle Town Justice Douglas Kraus will decide on Thursday morning whether to accept a plea deal entered by former Horace Greeley High School drama teacher Christopher Schraufnagel in connection with his criminal sex-abuse case, according to a report from The Journal News/lohud.com. 'Great Chappaqua Bake Sale' Raises Nearly $24K CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- The Great Chappaqua Bake Sale reported raising almost $24,000 at its seventh-annual gathering. The annual bake sale took place on Saturday, Sept. 24, and was held in conjunction with the Chappaqua Children's Book Festival, which is another big local event. Burglary Suspect Found With 7 Decks Of Heroin, Bedford Police Say KATONAH, N.Y. -- A 26-year-old suspect in the recent burglary of a Katonah home has been arrested and was found with seven decks of heroin, Bedford Police allege. The suspect is Justin Williams, a resident of the Dutchess County community of Holmes. Police said that detectives apprehended Williams in Bedford Hills on Sept. 29. The home burglary, according to police, took place on Aug. 11 at a residence on Elm Road. Williams is also a suspect in other home burglaries in northern Westchester, police said.

Voters Oust Pound Ridge Library Board Prez A Day After Director's Firing POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- Voters declined to re-elect Pound Ridge Library Board President Erin Trostle just one day after the board fired longtime Library Director Marilyn Tinter over disciplinary charges. Five of the board's nine seats were up for re-election this year, according to the library, which means that the top-five vote getters were the winners. Muscoot Farm Renamed To Honor Late County Executive Al DelBello SOMERS, N.Y. -- Muscoot Farm in Somers has been officially renamed to honor former Westchester County Executive Al DelBello, who helped to form it as a county park more than four decades ago. The farm's official new name, which is prominently displayed on the entry sign facing Route 100, is Alfred B. DelBello Muscoot Farm Park. Swiped Jewelry, Burglarized Business Top Mount Kisco Police Reports MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- A woman who lives on Mount Kisco's Brentwood Court reported on Tuesday, Sept. 7 that jewelry worth $2,225 was missing from her residence, Westchester County Police announced. Pound Ridge Woman Dies In Bicycling Accident POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- A Pound Ridge woman died after a bicycling accident that occurred on her normal route, police said.
