Worker Airlifted To Westchester Medical Center After Falling 7 Stories An employee of a Hudson Valley power plant is in critical condition after falling seven stories into the hopper in ductwork.  The incident took place in Rockland County around 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the Bowline Power Plant in West Haverstraw. Man Dies After Becoming Trapped Under Excavator In Westchester This story has been updated.  A 59-year-old man was killed after an excavator rolled on top of them on a residential Northern Westchester road, police said. The incident happened on Friday, Oct. 27 around 2:15 p.m., when the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department responded to an excavator rollover on Baptist Church Road.  According to Yorktown Police, a 59-year-old man who had been working with a local tree company had become trapped underneath an excavator he was standing next to. The incident happened in Bedford on Wednesday, Sept. 27 around 6:45 a.m., when police responded to the Glen Arbor Golf Club at 234 Bedford Center Rd., where an employee had been hit by a fallen tree limb while driving a golf cart. ID Released For Town Employee Hit, Killed By Vehicle In Westchester, Police Say The identity of a town worker hit and killed by a vehicle in Northern Westchester has been released by officials. Jake Arcara, age 28, was killed in Yorktown around 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14 in the area of 477 London Road. Arcara, of Yorktown, was working on a drainage project on London Road with fellow employees when he was struck by the vehicle operated by an 88-year-old local resident, town officials said. Orangetown Police said Edwin Nunez was found dead around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, inside a mixing machine at ICCO Cheese Co. in Orangeburg. Nunez, who died of blunt impact and crushing injuries, had worked for the company, which makes grated cheese and bread crumbs, among other items, for about 18 months, according to the Orangetown Police. Two Injured As Flammable Materials In Car Explode Near Metro-North Station Two Metro-North employees were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after flammable materials being stored in an employee’s personal, private vehicle exploded. The incident took place around 1 p.m.Friday in the parking lot of Metro-North’s North White Plains Yard, said Aaron Donovan, spokesman for the MTA.   MTA Police are investigating the cause.  There was no train involved and there is no impact to Metro-North train service.
